That’s right. It is an old Chinese curse. And as we live in interesting times (a lot going on, radical change), this is something worth considering. Some of us even live in crazy times.

As we mentioned before, the basic laws of life still remain the same. Can the accelerated human dilemma be tackled by Yoga? Yes. That is why the ancient science is spreading around the globe.

World Leaders are meeting in Copenhagen soon to take important Climate decisions. Karma Routes hopes that the Leaders keep in mind ancient mantra ‘Vaisudev Kutumbakam’ – The whole world is a family when they are discussing and making policies. Atmosphere has no boundaries.

We have signed the petition for the meet. You can too. Spread the hope. Hopenhagen.

great

‘Great ideal makes you to stand by a great vision.  To follow that you have to overcome narrow vision and a lot of petty things. Hence energy consumed by these is saved. You also start connecting to higher plane of realities, experience peace, attain power, perceive light and gain wisdom.’

Dr. Dhruv Shashwat rephrasing Swami Satyananda Saraswati

race…the race is with yourself.

namaste

I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me.

In order for transformation to happen we must go deep, to the very roots of our pain, and experience it as it is, without blame or self-pity.
ananda
The image is of Ananda, the cousin and disciple of Gautam Buddha. He was at Buddha’s side constantly, attending to his every need for forty-two years. When Buddha died, the story is told that Ananda was still at his side, weeping. The other disciples chastised him for his misunderstanding: Buddha had died absolutely fulfilled; he should be rejoicing. But Ananda said, “You misunderstand. I’m weeping not for him but for myself, because for all these years I have been constantly at his side but I have still not attained.” Ananda stayed awake for the whole night, meditating deeply and feeling his pain and sorrow. By the morning, it is said, he was enlightened.

“You are on the other side!”, he replied.

What I love most about the video is the presence of self-doubt. That’s a very human characteristic. We all at some time doubt ourselves. Self-doubt is what makes the win worth the fight. In Hollywood screenplay terms it is called moral dilemma. Well thought out characters have it.

irreverent

Ir⋅rev⋅er⋅ent – adjective – showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously.

Irreverence is cool. Disrespect is not.

Irreverence challenges traditions, customs, public figures, etc. without the hurt. Disrespect is, well just plain disrespect.

Internet is filled with rants, blog-posts, tweets where the lines of Irreverence and disrespect flirt. Just a thought to keep in mind when we are expressing online next.

A very good article published in 2003 in The Telegraph about The Luck Factor by Richard Wiseman

  • Unlucky people often fail to follow their intuition when making a choice, whereas lucky people tend to respect hunches. Lucky people are interested in how they both think and feel about the various options, rather than simply looking at the rational side of the situation. I think this helps them because gut feelings act as an alarm bell – a reason to consider a decision carefully.
  • Unlucky people tend to be creatures of routine. They tend to take the same route to and from work and talk to the same types of people at parties. In contrast, many lucky people try to introduce variety into their lives. For example, one person described how he thought of a colour before arriving at a party and then introduced himself to people wearing that colour. This kind of behaviour boosts the likelihood of chance opportunities by introducing variety.
  • Lucky people tend to see the positive side of their ill fortune. They imagine how things could have been worse. In one interview, a lucky volunteer arrived with his leg in a plaster cast and described how he had fallen down a flight of stairs. I asked him whether he still felt lucky and he cheerfully explained that he felt luckier than before. As he pointed out, he could have broken his neck.
